European Commissioner for Energy, Andris Piebalgs, on 1 April 2005 visited Kuwait on the occasion of the Eurogulf Energy Forum co-hosted by the European Union, the Energy Ministry of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The Commissioner addressed the Conference, a high level audience from all GCC countries, during the Plenary Ministerial Session together with the Kuwaiti Minister of Energy (also Chairman of the OPEC Conference for 2005), Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al Ahmad Al Sabah. The Forum aimed at launching a new phase in the cooperation between the European Union and the oil and gas producing GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and United Arab Emirates). The main issues in this dialogue related to security of energy supply, demand and market stability. |
