Preview of a two-day visit of European Commissioner for Enlargement, Olli Rehn, to Bucharest on 28 February - 1 March 2005. The visit came at an important moment in the relations between the EU and Romania: following the conclusion of the accession negotiations and prior to the signature of the Accession Treaty on 25 April 2005. During his first official visit to the country as Commissioner for Enlargement he planned to have discussions with the Romanian authorities concerning the commitments made during the accession negotiations and their fulfilment between then and the day of Accession, scheduled for 1 January 2007. |
