Press Release: Commissioner Ferrero-Waldner to visit Vietnam on 21-22 April

Preview of a visit of the European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, to Vietnam on 21-22 April 2006. Discussions were to cover a wide range of bilateral and regional issues of mutual concern: strengthening EU-Vietnam political, economic and trade links in the context of Vietnam’s 'Master Plan' on relations with the EU, upgrading the EU-Vietnam Co-operation Agreement, Vietnam’s role in the region, enhancing co-operation in the framework of ASEM and ongoing global issues like the WTO and avian flu.
