Less than two months after enlargement, the European Commission approved on 23 June 2004 economic and social development programmes in the framework of the structural funds for each of the ten new Member States. Including the Cohesion Fund allocation, the new development programmes carry a contribution from the Union of over EUR 24 billion between 2004 and 2006. |
