Press Release: Commission seeks to improve network and information security in Europe

The European Commission on 31 May 2006 adopted a Communication, entitled "A strategy for a Secure Information Society – 'Dialogue, partnership and empowerment'" which aimed at promoting greater awareness on the risks of insufficient protection of networks and information. The Commission suggested to achieve this through an open and inclusive multi-stakeholder dialogue on a new IT Security Strategy for Europe.
