The European Commission on 3 May 2005 decided not to raise any objections to a Czech aid measure to support its passenger railway activities. The Czech authorities intended to guarantee a loan amounting to €45 million granted by the financing company EUROFIMA to Czech Railways (Ceske dràhy) to facilitate the purchase of new passenger rolling stock. The aid measure was thought to contribute positively to the development of railway transport activities and was compatible with the proper functioning of the common market |
