Press Release: Commission and Mediterranean partners put enterprise at the core of their action

The European Commission, Ministers from nine Mediterranean partners, the Netherlands, as holder of the Presidency of the EU, and Italy, as host country, have signed the 'Caserta Declaration' through which they adopted the Euro-Mediterranean Charter for Enterprise. Mediterranean partners thus committed themselves to giving entrepreneurship and competitiveness a very high priority in their political agenda. The event marked a historic step in the Barcelona process of regional partnership, as the partners of the region signed a common document for the first time.
