Press Release: Commission allocates further €4 million for victims of the 2009 Typhoons in the Philippines

On 23 June 2010, the European Commission adopted a decision to allocate another €4 million to bring additional relief to the victims of Typhoons Ketsana and Parma in the Philippines, which devastated Manila and Central and Northern Luzon in September and October 2009. The new funds will finance vital support such as material for transitional shelters, housing repairs, water and sanitation, food and cash for work programs, and basic agricultural inputs. Up to 100,000 people will benefit from these actions.
