Press Release: Classical Swine Fever in Germany: measures eased slightly

A draft Decision by the European Commission, modifying certain measures in place due to classical swine fever in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, over the previous months was backed by the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health on 6 June 2006. The Committee agreed that pigs from the surveillance zone established around the most recent outbreaks in Borken could be moved to empty farms in the protection zone, subject to certain conditions.
