On 8 September, 2009, EU Trade Commissioner Catherine Ashton called for greater efforts on both sides to boost EU-China investment. At the China International Fair for Investment and Trade in Xiamen, Fujian Province, Commissioner Ashton addressed an audience of Chinese and international government and business delegates. She warned that in order to stop a downward trend in bilateral investment and fuel economic recovery, the EU and China needed to work more closely to remove barriers and give their companies much needed confidence. |
