Public Regulated Service (PRS) is one of the five services offered by the EU satllite navigation programme, Galileo, the others being the Open Service, the Search-and-Rescue Service, the Safety-of-Life Service and the Commercial Service. Access to PRS will be limited to users authorised by governments, and will be offered for use by groups such as police, coast guards and customs. At the PRM Summit in Barcelona, on 17-19 September 2012, officials from the European GNSS Supervisory Authority (GSA) made the case for early adoption of PRS standards. |
