Press Release: Better border management: EU funds new national coordination centre

The National Border Management Co-ordination Centre – the first facility of its kind in the Western Balkans – was opened In Skopje on 10 April 2006. The European Union provided €1.7 million for the construction of the centre, as part of its wider support to the government’s border management strategy.

The mandate of the European Agency for Reconstruction ran out at the end of 2008.
