Following the decision of the European Council, in December 2003, that the European Maritime Safety Agency would be permanently located in Lisbon, the site was agreed in July 2004. EMSA's new home will be on a waterfront property near the historic centre of the city. EMSA will have a presence there from August 2005 and the remainder of the staff will move shortly afterwards, when the construction work has been completed. |
