President’s pit-stop gives Baltics a diplomatic boost

The three Baltic States of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have a difficult relationship with Russia, resulting from forty years of Red Army occupation and unsettled border agreements. The visit to the region by US President George W. Bush in May 2005 is an important show of support for the Baltic States in their fight to resolve their differences with Russia.
