Preparing for a revolution in the ‘fossilised economy’

Jeremy Rifkin’s bestseller The Hydrogen Economy predicts that creating a global ‘energy’ web and weaning the world off fossil fuels will herald the “next great economic revolution”. Maybe so, but much still needs to be done, including meeting technical, logistical and environmental challenges, to make this ‘hydrogen revolution’ a reality. The aptly named ‘Hyvolution’, a new EU-funded project, will tackle part of the technical and environmental side with new biomass-hydrogen energy solutions.
