Political crisis hurts Turkey’s image

Report of a FT interview with Abdullah Gul, President of Turkey. He said that Turkey’s image abroad is suffering because of the crippling domestic political crisis that has shaken confidence in the financial markets. The crisis, involving a threat to shut down the governing Justice and development Party (AKP) party, was undermining the positive image built up in recent years through political and economic reform and the start of accession negotiations with the European Union.
