Following the collapse of the ruling coalition in Poland, President Aleksander Kwasniewski is expected to approve replacements for two Polish government ministers on 3 March 2003. The split has raised doubts over the government's ability to rally political support behind its final preparations to join the European Union. A referendum on EU membership is planned for June 2003.
