A British company has boosted pay for Polish workers in an attempt to keep them in their home country. In a reversal of the trend to lure central European workers to fill skills gaps in the UK, DSR Print Management, based in Northampton in the English Midlands, has been forced to offer extra incentives to stop its staff in Poland from emigrating. The move could be the first sign of a trend for international companies to improve pay and working conditions in countries such as Poland, where labour is cheaper, because staff there are increasingly likely to seek a better deal outside the country. |
