Report of visit by Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the Polish prime minister, to speak with the leaders of the EU Institutions in Brussels, 30 August 2006, partly to repair his government's battered reputation in the west. This was his first official visit outside Poland since coming into office as Prime Minister in July 2006. Issues discussed included protectionism in the banking sector, gay rights and human rights, shipyard subsidies and the independence of the central bank.
