Pension systems in the EU: Contingent liabilities and assets in the public and private sector

This study provides an overview of the different pension systems across EU Member States. It begins with an assessment of current pension systems in the EU and considers the financial development of the pension systems. It describes contingent liabilities and assets in the public and private sectors and concludes with some policy recommendations. Annex 1 comprises case studies from the Netherlands, France, Italy and Poland. Annex 2 describes minimum pensions across EU Member States.
