European Standards. The European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) has published its annual report for 1997-98. During the period covered by the report over 900 standards were adopted. Particular highlights were standards for industry (standards for machinery and public procurement of power station equipment); consumers (playground equipment and furniture removal services) and for the social infrastructure (physical link for electronic road tolling).
