EU competition rules and vertical restraints. The Commission has adopted a Communication on the application of EU competition rules to vertical restraints (agreements between producers and distributors). The basic idea is to introduce a very wide Block Exemption regulation that will exempt from the application of Article 85 EC Treaty all vertical restraints concerning intermediate and final goods and services except for a limited number of hardcore restraints.
