Convergence of telecommunications, media and IT sectors. The Commission has adopted a Working Document summarising the results of five months consultation on its Green Paper on the convergence of the telecommunications, media and information technology sectors, and the implications for regulation. The Commission requests more detailed input on three key issues: the access to networks and digital gateways in a converging environment; the creation of the framework for investment, innovation, and the encouragement of European content production, distribution and availability; how to ensure a balanced approach to regulation. The Working Document will be followed by a Commission Communication with policy proposals at the end of the year.
