Number of ‘.eu’ domain names doubles over 5 years

The number of registered websites with the '.eu' top-level domain name has reached 3.4 million, according to figures from the European Registry of Internet Domain Names (EURid), the non-profit organisation that manages it.

EURid announced the news on 6 April 2011 during a celebration of the fifth birthday of the '.eu' domain's opening to the public.
