Norway's Justice Minister Knut Storberget said on the 26 July 2011 that police had been 'fantastic' in the aftermath of the 22 July 2011 bomb and mass shooting, while promising an 'open and critical' review of why it took armed officers more than an hour to reach the island of Utøya where Anders Behring Breivik killed 68 people. On the 27 July 2011 the Norwegian government announced it was forming a special commission to examine exactly what happened and gauge emergency response. The commission will be independent and later report its results to Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg. |
