Denmark's Consulate in Beirut was burned down on 5 February 2006 by demonstrators protesting at the controversial cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed published in Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten in September 2005. There were also attacks on the embassies of Denmark, Norway and Sweden in Damascus.
