Features reports on the publication in January 2012 of a study commissioned by the European Commission on shale gas ('unconventional gas') activities in Europe. EurActiv reports that the study concludes tThere is no need for more environmental legislation in the case of shale gas exploration, at least until it reaches commercial scale, despite the environmental concerns of some.
