Further information: The initiative is seen as vital to restoring the waning confidence in the European Union's project. It places art, science and culture as elements that can shape the EU's society and lay the foundations for the future. Background information: The 'New Narrative' initiative was firstly launched in April 2013 and culminated in a variety of events and discussions leading to the publication of a declaration entitled 'The Mind and Body of Europe' in March 2014. The project was relaunched in February 2016, encouraging young people to contribute to the future of Europe with their ideas. The New Narrative is a project designed to give a voice to the artistic, cultural, scientific and intellectual communities to articulate what Europe stands for in present and future. The purpose of this is to contribute to bringing Europe closer to its citizens and reviving a 'European' spirit via the arts and sciences. |
