National productivity boards backed by Council

On the 20 September 2016, the Council of the European Union issued a recommendation calling on the eurozone member states to establish national productivity boards, which analyse developments and policies that can affect productivity and competitiveness, to achieve sustainable economic growth and convergence. The recommendation belongs to the European Commission’s October 2015 package of measures giving substance to the so-called five presidents' report.
