National practices with regard to accessibility of court documents

This study examines national practices regarding access to court files. After presenting some national regimes giving members of the public very broad access to court files (Finland, Slovenia and Canada), the study focuses on the accessibility of court files of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU). Finally, arguments in favour of greater access to the court files of the CJEU are analysed. Recommendations are developed on how to enable more comprehensive access by the general public to the court files of the CJEU.
