Further information: On 23 March the 85-year-old French Jewish Mireille Knoll was killed in her house in Paris. The autopsy showed she had been stabbed several times before the apartment was set on fire. On 26 march French police charged two men with murder motivated by adherence to a religion and with aggravated robbery and destruction of property. Therefore, French prosecutors are treating the case as an anti-Semitic attack. France's Jewish population warned of increasing anti-Semitism in the country and criticized authorities for not taking the threat seriously. On 28 March thousands of people took part in a silent march in Paris in memory of Mireille Knoll. On 23 March 2018 Mireille Knoll, a Jewish woman who survived to Holocaust, was murdered in her house. |
