Summary: This article aims to explain how restrictions of use relate to the concept of deterrent to market access under Article 34 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU). The article discusses the restriction of use on products, hence purchasing deterrents, that may prevent consumers from buying goods subject to restrictions and may deduce sales of these goods in general. The article considers how case law of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) illustrates these restrictions. |
