'Modernising Vocational education and training' is the fourth in a series of regular reports on vocational education and training research published by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop). The fourth research report comprises three publications: a Background report comprising 3 volumes; a Synthesis report and an Executive Summary. The report aims to provide and discuss the evidence-base for the process of enhanced cooperation in vocational education and training which sets priorities for reforming vocational education and training (VET) to contribute to the Lisbon process. It also aims to document, discuss and analyse the socio-economic context, and process of reforming VET, based on latest research evidence. The report intends to inform and improve policy-making and further develop the VET research agenda.
