Modernisation of the Professional Qualifications Directive

On 22 June 2011, the European Commission published a Green paper1 on the modernisation of the Professional Qualifications Directive, one of the 12 key actions in the Single Market Act. The Directive facilitates free movement of EU-professionals within the European Union, regardless of where in the EU they have acquired their professional qualifications.
