Summary: Report produced by the European Parliament's Committee on Budgetary Control concerning oligarch structures and the need to protection funds of the European union (EU) from fraud and conflict of interest. Further information: This report highlights the risk of fraud and conflict of interest arising from the increasing presence of oligarchic structures in the EU over the years. The analysis is conducted in the context of theĀ Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for 2021-2027 and the need to better protect its funds so that they can provide more effective results. It reiterates a call for the Member States to implement a single tool to store and access data on the direct or indirect beneficiaries of EU funding. The committee also stresses the need to strengthen anti-oligarch practices in relation to the existing MFF. |
