Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras met German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on the 23 September 2014 for talks, which focused on Greeceā€™s prospects for an exit from the memorandum and for debt relief.

Greece could exit its EU/IMF bailout earlier than expected and could cover its own funding needs in 2015, Prime Minister Antonis Samaras said.

'I know what a difficult time the country has been through', German Chancellor Merkel said in the press conference after the meeting, adding that 'the first tender shoots of success are visible'.
