Merkel, Sarkozy eye watered-down economic governance

Report of meeting between Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy in Berlin, 14 June 2010, where they discussed a joint strategy on Europe's debt crisis in advance of the European Council, Brussels. Both leaders agree they want to protect the euro, but in the past they had disagreed on how to do this.
