Memo: Trade aspects of enlargement: Key points for Ministerial meeting 11-12 May

EU Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy and Ministers from the 13 candidate countries met in Ljubljana on 11-12 May 2001 to promote their continued co-operation on WTO issues and dialogue on trade aspects of enlargement. They will continue their co-operation and dialogue on trade issues of common interest, ensuring that alignment with EU policies will be successfully completed by the time of accession. A Joint Statement in support of the launch of a new round of trade negotiations at the WTO-Ministerial meeting in November 2001 in Qatar was issued at the end of the meeting.
