The European Commission on 6 April 2005 put forward proposals how to amend the European Solidarity Fund after 2007. The EUSF is aimed at helping Member States and countries negotiating accession in major crisis situations resulting from natural disasters. The Commission proposed to widen the definition of major crisis situation to include industrial/technological disasters, public health emergencies and acts of terrorism. |
