Memo: Spain — Operational programme 2007–2013: Melilla

On 20 November 2007, the European Commission approved an Operational Programme for the autonomous region of Melilla for the period 2007-2013.

This Operational Programme comes under the 'Convergence Objective' and has a total budget of around 63.5 million euros. The financing provided by the Community by way of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is around 43.7 million euros, representing some 0.1% of total EU investment in Spain in the context of the cohesion policy 2007-2013.

The national contribution provided for amounts to 16.7 million euros and may be partly met by Community loans from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and by other lending instruments.
