	On 29 January 2014, the President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, sent a message of congratulations to Mr Bohuslav Sobotka, who was appointed Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. The Czech President Miloš Zeman appointed the country's new government under the social democratic Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka in Prague on the 29 January 2014.
