Memo: Preparation for the Competitiveness Council of Ministers, Brussels, 28/29 May 2009 and Space Council of Ministers, Brussels, 29 May 2009

The EU Competitiveness Council will meet in Brussels on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May under the chairmanship of Vladimir Tosovsky, Czech Minister for Trade and Industry. The European Commission will be represented by Vice President Günter Verheugen, responsible for Enterprise and Industry, Commissioner Charlie McCreevy, responsible for the Internal Market and Services and Commissioner Janez Potocnik, responsible for Science and Research. The Presidency has also invited Philippe Maystadt, President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) to give his feedback on actions taken by the EIB for the manufacturing industry and Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs).
