Memo: Commissioner Michel Barnier welcomes the European Parliament vote on the modernisation of the Professional Qualifications Directive: a good result for the promotion of professional mobility

Commissioner Michel Barnier congratulated the European Parliament on 9 October 2013 on having adopted the modernisation of the Professional Qualifications Directive, which is one of the priorities of the Single Market Act.

The text adopted will make it easier for professionals who wish to establish themselves or provide their services in other Member States to have their qualifications recognised, whilst guaranteeing an improved level of protection for consumers and citizens.
