Meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence, Berlin,13-14 September 2005

NATO's missions in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kosovo and its military transformation were the focus of an informal meeting of Defence Ministers in Berlin, 13-14 September 2005. Among other issues, Ministers of Defence from the 26 NATO member countries were expected to discuss further expanding the Alliance's presence in Afghanistan, to the south of the country.

In the aftermath of the London bombings, July 2005 they were also likely to review NATO's counter-terrorism efforts and progress in the creation of the NATO Response Force.
