Meeting: Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council, 18-19 June 2015

A meeting of the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council took place on 18-19 June 2015 in Luxembourg. The conclusions included the following topics:

+ Agreement on most of the Council's position on two draft regulations aiming at modernising the rules on medical devices and in vitro diagnostic medical devices;

+ Call for the presentation of a framework for the EU's alcohol policy;

+ Debate on the European agenda on migration;

+ Discussion on the employment and social policy aspects of the 2015 European Semester exercise;

+ Adoption of conclusions on the European Court of Auditors' special report on the EU youth guarantee scheme and information on its implementation at a EU level, including the youth guarantee and the European alliance for apprenticeships;

+ Briefing regarding the progress reports on the women on company boards directive and on the equal treatment directive;

+ Adoption of conclusions on equal income opportunities for women and men: closing the gender gap in pensions.
