On the 13 February 2017, the High-Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini met in Brussels with Uganda's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sam Kutesa. HR/VP Mogherini and MFA Kutesa exchanged views on key political challenges in the Horn of Africa and the Great Lakes regions, including in South Sudan, Somalia and Burundi. With regard to the massive influx of refugees from South Sudan to Uganda, the HR/VP acknowledged Uganda's exemplary hospitality and progressive refugee policies and confirmed that Uganda can continue counting on the European Union's political and financial support for handling such a testing task. |
