A new political party called Nye Borgerlige (The New Right) was established in Denmark in 2015. In September 2016 it had reached a sufficient level of signatures of support to take part in the next general election. Its core policy concerned tougher immigration rules, lower taxes and a withdrawal from the European Union and international conventions. It was considered to be tougher on immigration policy and more right wing in economic policy than the Danish People’s Party .
