Magna plays high-stakes car industry game

Magna International says that it plans to make Opel cars with Russia’s Gaz Group if it wins the bid to take over General Motor's European car making operations, promising to build scale for the carmaker in the continent’s second-biggest car market.

Yet Russia’s gambit for Opel is also a matter of jobs and survival for Russia’s teetering domestic car industry.
