Since the approval of the November 2001 Communication 'Strengthening the local dimension of the European Employment Strategy' - COM(2001) 629, the Commission has endeavoured to develop a coherent strategy, backed up by a set of specific activities, in order to take forward its priorities in the field of local employment. The activity report highlights the Commission's approach in implementing the policy priorities of the Communication, the main activities undertaken so far, and the next steps envisaged for capitalising on existing experience and enhancing the transfer of best practice at European level. Detailed fact sheets are provided on each of the activities outlined in the activity report. Full reports and documentation are made available on this website once they become available. |
