John Steinbeck said: 'People don’t make trips; trips make people'. Travel is an experience that shapes people. No two trips will be the same, each one is unique. Undoubtedly travel is necessary and useful for many different purposes, but the real goal of every journey is to grow inwardly as humans. The person who returns is not the same one who left. Exactly the same words could be used to describe the importance and the effect of reading… The EESC is very proud to be hosting its eighth session of lunchtime of readings by contemporary European authors, this time focused on travel experiences; discovering the world, oneself and others. The works of Eurydice Trichon Milsani, Stéphane Lambert, Zdravka Evtimova and Ine Roox will transport you to distant countries, as well as to mysterious dimensions of artistic creation, the territories of the unconscious, fantasy and dreams. These authors have been nourished by contrasting traditions, because they come from different countries: Greece, Bulgaria, France and Belgium, and because of their varying ages, personalities, interests and aspirations. These have led them to the Orient, to the United States, to the Mediterranean, Africa and Italy... But what they have in common is their willingness to get to know the world in all its guises and to share the fruits of their experience with their readers, who become fellow travellers
